Date posted

(Vancouver, July 22, 2015) – The Vancouver Chinatown Business Improvement Area Society (VCBIA) today announced the line-up of activities at this summer’s TD Vancouver Chinatown Festival, which will be held at the 100- block of Keefer Street and 500-block of Columbia Street in Vancouver’s historic Chinatown. The TD Vancouver Chinatown Festival is the largest summer multicultural event in B.C. which attracted approximately 57,000 attendees last year. Over 200 volunteers will help deliver a dynamic and exciting two-day festival August 8-9.

This year’s festival theme is “Flair of Fashion.” Some highlights of the event include traditional arts and crafts from around the world, walking tours that feature the food and history of Chinatown, an open-air market filled with exotic goods, multicultural stage performances and games for kids of all ages. Anime Fashion Showdown, live band music, and more will be highlighted on Saturday night until 10 p.m. at Streetfest. The Chinatown Mascot, Van Van will also celebrate his fifth birthday.

This year’s TD Youth Talent Showdown and Young Star Challenge Finalists are of a high caliber. There will be a variety of talent performed by our youth, including dancing, singing, band performances and even Guzheng. The finalists of the TD Youth Talent Showdown and Young Star Challenge will be competing at the TD Main Stage August 8-9.
